Promoting literacy across the city

On April 14th, I had the opportunity to read books to kids from my neighborhood alongside Councilmember Brooke Pinto. This was part of a city-wide event I planned with my colleagues on the DC State Board of Education. Across all 8 Wards, elected representatives including Councilmember Janeese Louis George and Councilmember Trayon White, Sr. promoted the joy of reading during the DC Public Schools’ scheduled spring break.

It's a privilege to work alongside colleagues who so clearly care about the families we are elected to represent.

WDVM shared video footage of the event, and the Georgetowner reported on the event at Rose Park in Georgetown.
