Outdoor Storytime with Officer Welch

I partnered with the DC Public Library, the Metropolitan Police Department, and the Friends of Volta Park to coordinate an after-school outdoor story time.

This afternoon, Officer Welch (a DC Public Schools alumnus) read books about police officers curated by children’s librarian Julie Kulikowski. Officer Welch also answered questions about his work with the Metropolitan Police Department. It was a great afternoon at Volta Park with over 30 students participating. We got overwhelmingly positive feedback, and are working to coordinate more “MPD Storytime” events in the coming months.
